SBDC Social Enterprise Center Announces 2015 Workshops

Does your business have a social mission? Is your business venture motivated by more than profits? Do you want to start a “triple bottom line” business, to pursue both social impact and financial self-sufficiency? The SBDC at SUNY Buffalo State provides assistance for entrepreneurs seeking to directly address social and environmental problems through their business.

 

Social Enterprise 101

Social Enterprise 101 will introduce you to SBDC’s Social Enterprise Center and to the following four areas of training:

Social business planning Legal form for social entrepreneurs:  the NYS Benefit Corporation and Cooperative Corporation Social and environmental impact measurement and reporting Financing your social enterprise

Measure What Matters

The SBDC at SUNY Buffalo State is proud to introduce the BALLE Quick Impact Assessment, a free online tool to help you improve your social and environmental impact, and begin to “measure what matters.”

Assess how your company performs against best practices on employee, community, and environmental impact. See how your company stacks up against thousands of other businesses. Create a plan to improve your company’s practices, and help your staff implement them easily with Best Practice Guides.
